[Watch] Nail Polish Remover Destroys Styrofoam Cup Scary Fast

You need to see this before your weekend mani.

Add manicures to the list of things we love that could kill us.
A video showing the corrosive power of nail polish remover, known as acetone, is shocking viewers by showing three Styrofoam cups melting in the commonly used solution within seconds. The clip, which was uploaded to the YouTube channel Let's Melt This, has been viewed over 320,000 times.

The cups, which all begin with smiley faces on them, are quickly pushed down into the liquid, one by one, disintegrating into pools of white foam. If that's what acetone does to nearly indestructible Styrofoam, we don't even want to think about what happens when it seeps into our cuticles.
Thanks, science, for ruining one of our favorite ways of pampering ourselves. Until we can find an acetone-free solution to removing nail polish, guess we'll just have to live with our chipped nails.
