Rappers and cars: the love affair is never-ending. Mississippi rapper/producer David Banner is just the latest rhyme slinger to drop a luxury card ode on rap fans. Banner and British beauty Estelle have teamed up on a new song for iconic luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz.
The new cut, plainly titled "Benz," is a re-interpretation of Janis Joplin's 1971 hit "Mercedes Benz." Also featuring the up-and-coming British crooner Daley, the track will be released as a single to iTunes on April 18. The collective will perform the song the next day at the Shanghai Auto Show in China. Mercedes-Benz will likely use the song to promote their vehicles internationally.
David Banner was last heard on his critically acclaimed album Death of a Pop Star in collaboration with 9th Wonder in December of 2010. The third entry of his Mississippi: The Album trilogy is slated for release later this year.
Estelle is expected to release her new single "Break My Heart" featuring Rick Ross on April 18 as well. Her third album, All of Me, will also be released in 2011.
