J. Prince Wants Kanye West And Other Artists To Unite For Anti-Grammys Concert
Music executive J.Prince wants to help orchestrate his take on an Anti-Grammys Concert to protest the annual music ceremony.
According to Complex, the Houston native headed to his Twitter to share his master plan for an all-star concert featuring Kanye West, Drake, and others to protest the Grammys on the same night as the show.
“I’ve been watching the Grammys control and dictate our culture to their benefit up close and personal for the past 30 years that I’ve been in the music business,” Prince wrote.
In a separate social media post, Prince headed to his Instagram to further explain why Hip Hop artists should regain control and power in the music industry, HipHopDX reports.
“I recommend that the artists I mentioned above — and more — come together in Las Vegas and perform at the same time as the Grammys on a special network and streaming platform to prove that ratings will change where the Grammys are concerned when the No. 1 selling genre in music — Hip Hop — come together,” he said. “Because there’s power in numbers.”
He added in the IG post caption, “The powers that be will be mad at me about this one. But f**k ’em! I love the culture. The seed has been planted; let’s water it.”
Prince also called out the Grammy’s decision to cancel Kanye West’s upcoming performance at the show and highlighted past Grammy snubs from Drake, The Weeknd, and others.
It’s unclear if an Anti-Grammy concert is in the works, but J. Prince had his hand in the Kanye and Drake Free Larry Hoover benefit concert earlier this year, viewed by millions on Kanye’s official YouTube channel.
The 2022 Grammys will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Apr. 3.
