Thousands Rally for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in Wisconsin and Michigan

Walz called it ‘the largest rally of the campaign’ so far.

Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz held rallies in the battleground states of Wisconsin and Detroit, Michigan, on Wednesday (Aug. 7), attracting more than 10,000 people each.

According to reports, Harris’ campaign said the Eau Claire, Wisconsin rally drew about 12,000 people, while the Detroit rally drew 15,000 supporters. Walz called it “the largest rally of the campaign” so far.

The Detroit crowd repeatedly chanted, “We’re not going back,” regarding Donald Trump’s anti-abortion politics and his “Make America Great Again” slogan.

Harris's speech in Detroit was interrupted by a small group of pro-Palenstein protestors, whom she met with before the rally. “You know what? If you want Donald Trump to win, then say that otherwise, I’m speaking,” she told the hecklers before the crowd cheered.

Earlier this week, the vice president announced Walz as her vice-presidential running mate for the 2024 Presidential Election. “It is the honor of a lifetime to join @kamalaharris in this campaign. I’m all in,” the Minnesota governor said in a statement. “Vice President Harris is showing us the politics of what’s possible. It reminds me a bit of the first day of school. So, let’s get this done, folks! Join us.”
