Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Launches New R&B Label ‘Love Records’
After signing a one-time album deal with Motown Records, Sean “Diddy” Combs has officially launched a new R&B record label, LOVE RECORDS.
Marking his return to music, the new label will focus its efforts on being dedicated to releasing collaborative projects and singles from artists, producers and songwriters, according to a press release obtained by BET.com.
“Music has always been my first love, LOVE RECORDS, is the next chapter [it] is about getting back to the love and making the best music of my life,” said Combs. “Motown is the perfect partner for my album and I’m excited to add to its legacy.”
The three-time Grammy Award winner’s forthcoming album will be his first project released under his new label, set to drop during Summer 2022.
“This is a major moment for Motown, as Diddy is one of this century’s most important voices in music and culture; To be a part of his next evolution and album is nothing short of monumental,” said Motown Records C.E.O and Chairwoman Ehtiopia Habtemariam.
With this new venture and partnership on the rise, Combs will still continue his oversight at his iconic Bad Boy Entertainment label that helped shape and develop the sounds for The Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, Boyz II Men, and others.
In other Diddy news, he will serve as the host and executive producer for the 2022 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 15).
