J. Cole Drops Video for "Lost Ones"
With an unexpected No. 1 album under his belt, J. Cole would be well within rights dropping some sort of celebratory anthem as his next single. But, if you've been following the North Carolina spitter's career, you'd know that's not really his style. Yesterday J. unleashed the video for "Lost Ones," one of the deepest, most emotional cuts off of his acclaimed, chart-topping studio debut, Cole World: Sideline Story.
The clip begins with a written message from the MC: "With just a Dollar and a Dream, this video was shot in 2008 before I even had a record deal. Three years later, watching it still gives me the same emotions. This is dedicated to the Lost Ones."
J. Cole also spoke about the clip on his website. “[It's] a song with dealing with young pregnancy, when you're around that age of either late teens or early 20s or whatever age you are. It explores all of that from both sides," he said. “One of my favorites — I've been holding on to that song for like four years, just waiting for this album to come out."
