Last week was a rough one for Usher. Laura Helm, who was previously referred to as "Jane Doe," went public and filed a $20 million lawsuit accusing Usher of giving her herpes. Separately, a man claiming he met Usher at a Koreatown spa said they had sex and the Grammy winner gave him herpes. Another woman said Usher gave her herpes, which caused her twins to be stillborn.

After over a month of bad press, it appears that Usher's mother, Jonetta Patton, has spoken out about the allegations on Instagram. "If I were IN CHARGE this USHER drama would never have gone down...too much positive work went into making this MEGA STAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!........I can't stand by and watch this!!! I apologize to each and everyone of you!!!!!!!......too much for me!!!!!!!!!" and "Thank you all for your words of wisdom, encouragement and prayers yesterday! I am a believer and I have faith in God that he shall have the victory."  
Patton managed Usher up until his marriage to Tameka Foster back in 2007. She famously refused to attend the wedding. Tameka and Usher divorced in 2009. The R&B singer married Grace Miguel in 2015.
