  • New York Liberty Seeking To Claim Their First Championship

The New York Liberty have the distinction of having appeared in the most WNBA Finals without winning a championship. Since the first game of the season, the New York Liberty have been on a mission to get back into the Finals and bring a chip to New York City. Boasting one of the best Big 3’s in the league with Sabrina Ionescu, Breanna Stewart, and Jonquell Jones, the Liberty have the best record in the league at 31-7 and have been the best squad all year. Could this finally be their year?

  • Las Vegas Aces Going For The 3-Peat

One of the most compelling storylines of the season has been the Las Vegas Aces seeking to win their third consecutive championship. If the Aces can win it all, they would join the Houston Comets who won three straight championships from 1997–2000. Led by A’Ja Wilson who is the favorite to win her third league MVP and became the only WNBA player to score 1,000 points in a season, along with Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young, and Chelsea Gray, the Aces are currently in second place with a 25 -13 record. Although the Aces haven’t been as dominant as they were in the past seasons, they bring championship mettle to the table and are sure to be a contender for the Finals.

  • Caitlin Clark’s First Playoff Run

The emergence of the Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark in her remarkable rookie season has captivated the sports world. As the number one pick of the 2024 Draft, many questioned if Clark could live up to the hype and make the transition to the pros. Undoubtedly, she has proved that her greatness has translated into the league. In her rookie campaign, she’s averaging 19.5 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds, and she has racked up the most assists in a single season, and led the Fever into the playoffs for the first time since 2016. With the announcement of the Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese's season-ending wrist injury, Clark is a shoo-in for Rookie of the Year. In her first playoffs, Clark will be looking to take her game and her team to another level.

  • Don’t Sleep On the Minnesota Lynx

The success of the Minnesota Lynx has flown under the radar this season. Since the Olympic break, the Lynx have gone 12-1, with the best record in the second half of the season. Led by star forward Napheesa Collier, who’s been a force to be reckoned with, the Lynx have quietly been one of the best teams this season. Collier is averaging 20.3 points a game to go along with 9.8 rebounds and is proving to be one of the best players in the league. If the Lynx win both of their remaining games and Liberty lose their last two games, they will claim the top seed in the playoffs. Without question, the Minnesota Lynx have what it takes to hoist the championship trophy in October.

  • Which Team Will Claim the Final Spot?

The teams, the Washington Mystics, Atlanta Dream, and Chicago Sky, are in a three-way tie for the eighth and final playoff spot. Because of tiebreakers, the Mystics are holding steady in the eighth spot while the Dream is in the ninth, and the Sky occupy the 10th spot. As unpredictable as the season has been, anything can still happen as the final playoff spot is up for grabs with the post-season just around the corner.
