Chad Johnson doesn't have a lot of friends these days, but he can count on Mike Tyson's sympathy.

The former heavyweight champ, who has a history with domestic violence, offered Johnson a shoulder to lean on in the aftermath of his arrest and subsequent split from wife Evelyn Lozada.
"I've been that guy," Tyson says. "I’m not saying he’s a bad guy, but anybody could put that camera on you and start selling your dreams and you will really believe...that you’re somebody that you’re actually not."
"He’s everything that he never wanted to be in front of everybody," Tyson continues, before adding rather vaguely, "In this day and time, head-butting a woman, even if she struck you, you can’t explain that…that doesn’t mean that they still don’t love each other. But at that moment in time, if you’re not conscious and strategize your actions, your emotions can take you places that you never believed you were ever conceived in going."

Johnson needs all the friends he can get these days, as his career, marriage and livelihood seem to be crumbling around him. Following last Saturday's attack against Lozada, during which he allegedly gave her a three-inch laceration to the forehead from a head-butt, Johnson has been dropped from the Miami Dolphins, seen his upcoming reality series Ev and Ocho bite the dust and lost a number of lucrative endorsement deals.
Now, the Caribbean nation that paid $90,000 for the privilege of hosting Johnson's July 4 wedding to Evelyn Lozada wants its money back. The island of St. Maarten agreed to foot the bill for many of Lozada and Johnson's wedding expenses in exchange for the publicity associated with the televised nuptials, RadarOnline.com reports, and are now seeking a refund.

The nation's finance minister Roland Tuit says, “When someone is investing in business it's a risk they are taking and if something happens then they will have to deal with the consequences. Naturally, we have a contract with Johnson and Lozada and that contract has some clauses inside of it and St. Maarten will use those clauses if necessary.”
The legal fallout coming to Johnson from the incident remains to be seen.
