Angie Stone was arrested at her home in Georgia yesterday (March 9) for allegedly assaulting her daughter, reports the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Stone reportedly knocked her daughter’s front teeth out with a metal stand. 

The 53-year-old singer and her daughter, Diamond, 30, got into what started as a verbal fight over the daughter not cleaning her room. Stone says she didn’t know she hit Diamond with the stand. “Once she realized this, she quickly put the stand down and attempted to get away from [Diamond]," the police report states.

Stone contends that Diamond then came after her “to strike her again,” but that a third party broke up the fight.

Mother and daughter have differing stories, however. According to what Diamond told police, “Ms. Angie Stone started [getting] in her face, telling her she needed to leave because she is tired [of] her.” After being hit by her mother, Diamond walked away from the altercation to call police.

The women were both taken to the DeKalb County Police Department. Diamond was questioned and released. Stone is still in custody. 

She is charged with domestic aggravated assault.
