Kanye West’s Instagram Account Restricted For Violating Its Policies
Kanye West’s Instagram account has reportedly been restricted for violating the social media platform’s policies.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a spokesperson from Meta confirmed the move, which deleted content from the rapper’s page. While the account is still currently visible, a restriction has been placed on it.
Meta has a policy of putting restrictions on users after repeated violations, which could temporarily prevent the user from sharing posts, sending direct messages or posting comments.
It isn’t clear what content prompted the platform to restrict Ye’s account, and the Meta rep also would not specify how long his account will be limited.
On Friday (October 7), West took to Twitter after being absent from the platform for a while. There, he criticized Meta chair Mark Zuckerberg, tweeting, “How you gone kick me off instagram.”
On Instagram, Kanye recently posted an exchange purportedly between himself and Diddy in which West used language considered anti-Semitic by other social media users. The post has since been deleted.
Yeezy also recently made an appearance on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight where he noted that it hurts his feelings when “people can ask, ‘Hey, are you okay?’”
"They keep on using the 'Oh he's crazy, he's crazy' thing,” the 45-year-old rapper added. “And it hurts my feelings when people say that."
