Thick vs. Fat: What’s the Difference?
Amber Rose found herself defending her body weight this week when a paparazzi photo of her jogging in leopard leggings hit the Web. Bloggers joked that the model had a weight problem, often showing side-by-side comparisons of pictures she appeared in years ago, visibly smaller.
“I'm 5'9", 148 [pounds]," Amber shot back on her Twitter page. "How am I fat? Man, what have I done so wrong? I just don't get it."
While her thighs and butt may appear bigger in recent pictures, to call her fat is a bit extreme. According to the Body Mass Index, her stats are normal for her height. Never mind the fact that she’s jogging to keep herself healthy—wasn’t it her hips that helped her get a start as a music video girl and a model in the first place? Where do we draw the line on celebrating curves and calling someone out for their size?
