Still Family: Malcolm-Jamal Warner Tweets A Beautiful Message For His ‘Cosby Show’ Co-Star Geoffrey Owens

The actor shed light on some often overlooked details.

Cosby Show alum Geoffrey Owens has become a revered figure throughout social media thanks to the wide array of support he's received from peers and fans alike following Fox News' cheap critique of his Trade Joe's job.

Since the initial gust of support hit, he's received kind comments from the likes of Tami Roman to Tyler Perry, and the latest to share some words of encouragement is Owens' former Cosby Show co-star Michael-Jamal Warner.

Just after Owens eloquently shared how he received and responded to the public's support during a sit-down interview on Good Morning America, Warner, who played Theo Huxtable on the sitcom, took to Instagram to not only agree with the widely expressed sentiments about his former co-worker, but to also defend his work.

"What people don't know about Geoffrey is that not only did he graduate cum laude from Yale, but he is an accomplished theater actor (pre and post-Cosby)," he wrote. "His intimate knowledge of Shakespeare as an actor and director puts many of us to shame."

After rightfully schooling everyone on Owens' deeply rooted talents, he redirected his focus to Fox News' hateful rhetoric that started this story.

"In a way, we should thank Fox News and the miserable f***s for their attempt to job shame him," he continued. "With the love and support he's getting from everybody, he's about to get more work."

Well, said.

Warner went on to further mention that Owens' heavily criticized gig at the popular grocery store was not a career change but rather simply "a placeholder gig."

"An actor's life is a series of ups and downs," he said.
