Did Keke Palmer Just Manifest A Role In Whoopi Goldberg’s ‘Sister Act 3’?
Fresh from her appearance on Issa Rae’s Insecure, Keke Palmer dropped by ABC’s The View and didn’t waste the opportunity to shoot her shot at Whoopi Goldberg.
In case you missed it, in Sept. 2020, Palmer tweeted at the Insecure star and creator, writing, “Hey @IssaRae there’s been a mix up. I posted about season 5 of Insecure and now everybody thinks I’m gonna be on it. We can’t let them down, put me in to beat Condola’s a** real quick.”
Last week’s episode centered on Condola (Christina Elmore) and Lawrence’s (Jay Ellis) relationship featured Palmer as the former’s sister. It proved that the former child actor’s manifest powers had leveled up.
While sitting with Goldberg and the cast of The View, Palmer dutifully answered questions about her new Amazon Prime book series, Southern Belle Insults. Afterward, she pulled up like Steph Curry from half-court for her subsequent request — to land a role in the upcoming Sister Act 3 sequel.
“Now Whoopi, I gotta shoot my shot, like I did with Issa a little bit ago,” Palmer said. “I heard that Tyler Perry is doing ‘Sister Act 3’, and I just want you to know that I’m available for the job. Any job. I mean, you ain’t got to say nothing now, you know, I’ll send you an email or something. Just let me know if you need me.”
As it turns out, Palmer may be two-for-two because after hearing Palmer’s pitch, Goldberg replied, “I already brought it up.”
Fans of both celebrities will have to stay tuned to see whether Palmer ends up joining the Saint Katherine’s chorus sometime soon.
The third installment of Sister Act will be directed by Tim Federle (creator of High School Musical) and finds Whoopi Goldberg donning the sanctified collar after nearly three decades of a hiatus.
