Rihanna Named Best-Selling Digital Artist of All Time

Rihanna tops Beyoncé, Lil Wayne, Eminem and others on the Nielsen SoundScan list.

In her relatively short career, Rihanna has managed to pull off what some might consider a crowning achievement. The 23-year-old Barbadian pop star was just recognized by Nielsen as the best-selling digital artist of all time.

With 47.5 million tracks sold digitally since her first release in 2005, Rihanna earns the title by a comfortable margin. In second place are the Black Eyed Peas, who have moved 42.4 million digital units. Eminem comes in a very close third at 42.29 million.

Rihanna, who released her sixth album in as many years last November, rose to popularity at the height of the digital era. Previously, the "We Found Love" bombshell made Billboard history by reaching 20 top ten singles faster than any other artist before her. She also charted her 11th number-one single, giving her the sixth most number ones of all time.
