Premiere: Eric Bellinger Reloads 'G.O.A.T.' Remix With Wale
It's been nearly a year since we last heard the soulful vocals of Eric Bellinger after he dropped off the politically themed EP Eric B For President: Term 1.
Fortunately enough for fans, however, the R&B crooner has returned with a reloaded version of the sensual ballad "G.O.A.T.," featuring long-time collaborator Wale.
True to form, Eric doesn't disappoint with his own special rendition of this "e-mix." The infectious single, which inspired a House of Cards themed visual, finds both artists continuing to celebrate the special women in their lives. Over the lullaby-like production, the singer explains why his lady is the greatest of all time while Wale doesn't hesitate to praise his woman saying: "I would elevate your name but I'm saying you're already an angel."
Speaking to BET, Eric revealed that his fans actually pushed for a part two to the stand out track and naturally thought to recruit the D.C. lyricist for a feature. "When I thought about who I wanted to recruit for the 'G.O.A.T' remix, my first thought was to hit my brother Wale," he said. "He and I got a special chemistry the world needs."
Wale followed up by praising Eric as "one of the hardest working people in our business" and compared the singer's work ethic to the legendary James Brown. "If he could dance, he’d certainly be James Brown 2020. But he takes his time writing for other artists. Any record he believes in, I want to be a part of."
