Watch Lil Wayne Lead a Black Lives Matter Chant in New Orleans
Lil Wayne started chanting something at a concert in New Orleans over this past weekend (August 27).
However, much to the delight of fans, Weezy’s chant had nothing to do with his ongoing feud against Cash Money and Birdman. In fact, instead of going in on his largest rival, the rapper used his spotlight to draw attention to the nation’s most important movement, Black Lives Matter.
During Lil Wayne’s performance, which was streamed live on Tidal, he was inspired to make a statement on our nation’s current events, and his powerful words grew into a chant with everyone in attendance applauding the message.
“We are Black America,” Weezy addressed the crowd. “Black Lives Matter! Clothes don’t matter, cars don’t matter, nothing else matters ‘cuz Black Lives Matter.”
While the audience was very receptive to his BLM call to action, it wouldn’t have been a Lil Wayne show in 2016 without at least one comment directed towards Cash Money.
“Before I get out this motherf***a, I want to say three more important words: f**k Cash Money,” he concluded his show.
Hey, he had to get at least one of those in.
