‘Big Brother’ Removes White Contestant Who Used the N-Word on Camera
A contestant was recently removed from CBS’s reality series “Big Brother” after he was caught using a racial slur during a conversation with another cast member.
The network confirmed the news in a statement made on Wednesday, stating, “Luke [Valentine] violated the ‘Big Brother’ code of conduct, and there is zero tolerance in the house for using a racial slur.”
The note continued, “He has been removed from the house. His departure will be addressed in Thursday night’s show.”

In a clip broadcast on the series' live feed, the 30-year-old illustrator from Weston, Florida, was captured uttering the n-word. Realizing his error, the reality star tried to retract his statement and apologized to a Black houseguest in the room.
However, Valentine followed up with a seemingly unconcerned, “I don’t give a f—," indicating a lack of worry about potential consequences. Valentine had joined the cast for its 25th season, which premiered earlier this month.
Since its debut on July 5, 2000, the show has garnered a lengthy record of racially charged incidents. In 2019, Black contestant Kemi Fakunle openly condemned the "degrading and threatening comments" directed at her by fellow houseguests. She also accused a producer of urging her to adopt a stereotypical Black accent. In response, the producer was reprimanded and underwent unconscious bias training.
