Romance rumors hit the web last week when Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star K. Michelle tweeted about Olympian swimmer Ryan Lochte. The R&B singer was very excited about Lochte’s upcoming races and posted to her Twitter account to let her fans know.

“OK ITS GOING DOWN THE 2012 OLYMPICS JUST STARTED AND MY POOH @ryanlochte IS ABOUT TO KICK ASS. SO PROUD OF U. LUV YA,” she tweeted.

The two have been pictured together smiling and looking like good friends. However, many bloggers took the reality star’s tweet as a hint toward something more. K. Michelle’s rep was quick to shut down the hype, saying that nothing of the sort was going on.

“K. Michelle and Ryan Lochte are just great friends who support one another. Ryan and K. Michelle have known one another for some time, and their relationship is nothing more but wonderful and supporting friends in each other’s career,” read her rep’s statement.

The songstress also addressed the rumors, and wanted to make it clear that the gossip had no merit. After trending on Twitter, she felt the need to shed some light on the real deal.

“This is so out of the blue and old news. I am single. I have friends and I support their endeavors! #carryon,” she posted on the popular social network. 

Lochte has quickly risen to become one of America’s hottest bachelors, as he’s demonstrated his athletic prowess in back to back competitions this last week. While some claim the two make an unlikely couple, love has no formula. For now, the music celebrity and athlete are just friends.
