Russell Simmons upped the ante on his support for the Occupy Wall Street movement, presenting a new constitutional amendment in front of Occupy Boston protesters Tuesday (November 15).
Simmons's amendment, said to be authored by an un-named senior member of Congress, would ban private funding for all elected officials to federal office.  
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, the hip hop mogul called Mayor Michael Bloomberg's recent decision to sweep protesters out of the Manhattan's Zuccotti Park where they had been camping "illegal attacks."
"Only one percent of the one percent don't want this country to be better and that was an example of one. He broke the law," Simmons said.
The famed entrepreneur, one of the most successful business men in hip hop history, has been vocal in his support of the grassroots Occupy movement, which has rallied against corporate greed and government corruption since it began in September.
