Just like Black activists who pioneered the civil right’s movement, it appears that contemporary Black figures may be under government surveillance.
Activist, writer and Twitter influencer Shaun King recently tweeted a thread which revealed he and his family were detained by immigration agents at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City.
King said the incident occurred when his family returned from Cairo, Egypt
The officer allegedly questioned King about his work as a leader in the Black Lives Matter movement
King was able to contact his attorneys and was eventually released
