Ben Crump To Represent Over 200 People In Astroworld Lawsuits
Ben Crump, civil rights attorney, announced on Friday (Nov. 12), that he and his legal team are representing over 200 people in the deadly aftermath of Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival in Houston.
Alex Hillard, who is working with Crump, said the team had filed at least 93 lawsuits by the close of business on Friday, according to The Hill.

“This lawsuit is not just about getting justice for them,” Crump said during the hour-long conference. “But it’s about making sure the promoters and organizers know that you cannot allow this to happen in the future, even if you have to immediately stop the concert,” which was attended by up to 50,000 people.
Eight people died and dozens were injured Saturday (Nov. 6) after a crowd surge at Scott’s concert triggered “panic.” A ninth person, a 22-year-old student at Texas A&M University, who was caught in the crush of people, died of her injuries after she was declared brain dead on Wednesday (Nov. 10).
Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña stated that Scott should have stopped the performance. But Scott’s spokesperson, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, told CBS This Morning that “he was not responsible for this, but he wants to be the solution.” She said the “notion” that Scott could halt the show and gain control of the stampede was “ludicrous.”
Live Nation, an entertainment company that organized the festival, told The Hill in a statement that it will "address all legal matters at the appropriate time."
“We continue to support and assist local authorities in their ongoing investigation so that the fans who attended and their families can get the answers they want and deserve.”
