If you added Drake’s 2017 playlist More Life to your list of Grammys predictions, you might want to draw a line through it now. According to a new report, More Life will not be considered for one of music’s most prestigious honors, and it’s not because the album was trash. Actually, Drake was the one who opted out of submitting the 22-track project for review, The Associated Press reports.

While early predictions had Drizzy in the running for Album of the Year and  Best Rap Album, an anonymous source close to the nomination process told AP that he did not submit it. Furthermore, the Canadian rapper didn’t submit any of the playlist’s singles to categories like Song of the Year, Record of the Year or Best Rap Song.

Arguably, More Life wasn’t the best of Drake. Nevertheless, it’s quite surprising he didn’t want it to be considered for any award considering its Billboard and commercial success. Following the project’s Mar. 2017 release, it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. It’s singles, including “Passionfruit,” “Fake Love” and “Portland,” all peaked in the Top 10. Not to mention, the album sold more than 2 million units and set a number of streaming records, according to Nielsen Music. 

While Drake’s reps have not released a statement regarding the reports, his withdrawal from this year’s Grammy nominations may have something to do with hip-hop’s disinterest in the awards ceremony altogether. On his 2015 track “Blessings,” the rapper, who is already a three-time Grammy winner, suggested he wasn’t interested in Grammy success. “I could give two f**k ’bout where the Grammys go,” he rapped.

And Drizzy isn’t the only one who is over the awards ceremony. In the past, Jay-Z, Kanye West and Frank Ocean have spoken out about the Grammy’s unfair voting process and continued dismissal of hip-hop and rap.

Nominees for the 60th annual Grammys will reportedly be announced on Nov. 28. While Drake is out of the running for More Life, he could still receive nominations for the songs on which he is a featured guest. Even so, Drake didn’t show up at last year’s ceremony, so he’ll most likely be a no-show this year as well.
