Nick Cannon and ‘Wild ’N Out’ Fans Gather $25K for Rich Homie Quan's Family

The late Atlanta rapper was laid to rest after his unexpected passing on September 5.

Nick Cannon recently donated some of the proceeds from a Wild 'n Out live show in Atlanta to the family of rapper and hometown native Rich Homie Quan. The “Type of Way” emcee was pronounced dead on September 5 after being found unresponsive in his home.

As reported by Atlanta's WSB-TV, Cannon paused the live show on Thursday to deliver a medley of the late rapper's greatest hits. He also brought Quan's family on stage, including his father, Corey Lamar, and brother, Rich Homie Dre, presenting them with a check for $25,000.

The television host revealed that $10,000 of the total funds was contributed by Wild 'n Out fans, while he personally added another $10,000. Additionally, State Farm Arena, the venue for the live show, pitched in $5,000.

This heartfelt gesture came just two days after Quan's funeral, which took place at World Changers Church International in South Fulton, Georgia.

While the cause of death has yet to be revealed, local police confirmed that Quan's brother, Andre Munford, discovered him on the kitchen floor, food still in his mouth. Munford relocated him to the couch, where he remained for several hours until his girlfriend, Amber Williams, found him lying down, believing he was sleeping.

A few hours later, Williams checked on Quan again and noticed his body was cold and he wasn’t breathing. She immediately called 911, and he was rushed to Grady Hospital, where doctors later confirmed he had passed away. He was 34.
