Rams' Stedman Bailey Shot in The Head Twice
Stedman Bailey is one tough guy.
The St. Louis Rams third-year wide receiver is in critical, but stable condition after being shot twice in the head Tuesday night, ESPN is reporting. Bailey was resting in a Florida hospital overnight and is slated to have surgery Wednesday.
According to ESPN, Bailey was sitting in a car in Miami Gardens with several people, including children, when a gunman opened fire. A source additionally told ESPN that the driver of the car was shot multiple times, while trying to protect the children in the car from the raining bullets, and that his injuries are more serious than Bailey's.
This incident comes after the 25-year-old was suspended four games by the NFL earlier this month for violating the league's policy on substance abuse.
Upon learning that Bailey was shot, the Rams released the following statement to ESPN.
"We are aware Stedman Bailey was involved in an incident this evening," the Rams said. "We have spoken with Stedman and he is in the hospital in critical, but stable, condition. We are gathering facts about the situation and will provide updates as we learn more."
