Joey Bada$ to Help Kickoff Hot 97’s Summer Jam 2013
For 20 years, Summer Jam has played host to some of hip hop's biggest moments. Even people that don't live on the East Coast remember when Jay-Z declared war on Nas, sparking one of the most famous battles in the genre's history.
This year, Hot 97 will look to showcase some of the game's hottest newcomers, including A$AP Ferg, Action Bronson, Smoke DZA and Vinny Cha$e, at the Festival Village kickoff show. Brooklyn's most buzzed about young gun, Joey Bada$, will be one of the most sought after acts at the pre-show festivities.
The 18-year-old prodigy, who made a name for himself with last year's 1999 and Rejex mixtapes, has hip hop fans foaming at the mouth for his debut album, which is scheduled to come out later this year.
Troy Ave, Bodega Bamz and "Who's Next Battle for the Best" winner Radamiz will be performing as well. As always, expect surprise guests to show up to the daytime event, which will be held at the Festival Village outside of MetLife Stadium just before the big show starts on June 2.
