Wiz Khalifa, Rap's Rookie of the Year

Wiz Khalifa spoke to Terrence and Rocsi about his early success.

Wiz Khalifa was named the 2010 Rookie of the Year by The Source magazine, and so far 2011 has been his biggest year yet.
On his last visit to 106 & Park, Wiz expressed just how honored he was to earn that title, and credited his fans for all their love and support.
Of course, getting to the top is one thing; staying there is something else. Wiz said that the mainstream spotlight means a lot more work, but the Pittsburgh MC has always been about his grind—and having fun at the same time.
From small shows to big shows, Wiz has learned to work through everything. And now it's all paying off. "All this is new to me," he said after rocking the 106 & Park studio, "so I'm having a lot of fun." And you can bet that the studio audience did too.
