In light of leaving season 9 of "Bachelor in Paradise" without an engagement, stars Kylee Russell and Aven Jones's love story has come to a close.

Days after the show's finale wrapped, Russell took to social media on Saturday (Dec. 9) to reveal that she and Jones had broken up, as reported by Us Weekly. According to Russell, infidelity was the root cause of their demise.

“Following our relationship announcement yesterday, I want to thank my God, he didn’t allow me to live another day in the dark,” she wrote in her IG story. “In the last 24 hours, I have been grasping with the fact that one of the most important relationships in my life dissolved due to multiple infidelities.”

She continued, “This is not just a show but my real life and for the foreseeable future, I will be in a time of healing and trying to put the puzzle pieces of my life back together. Please respect my privacy at this time. Love you all.”

Furthermore, Russell has wiped her IG account clean of all photos of them.

One day after her candid post, Jones took the same platform to take accountability. 

"After careful thought and consideration into writing this I want to first and foremost apologize to Kylee, my family and my friends for my actions," he said in his IG story. "I have made major mistakes in the relationship and hurt someone who was very close to me. At this time, I am in an extremely extremely low place trying to work on myself. I am doing my best to find healing, find myself and be a better person."

He ended his message with, "Please have grace and respect for Kylee and her family through this difficult time."

The couple met on season 9 of the reality show, but during the finale episode on Dec. 7, Russell was doubtful Jones would propose.

“An engagement is what I’ve been wanting, and I know it’s him. I know,” Russell admitted in a confessional. “So, I don’t get why he can’t see that as well. I don’t know what more I can do.”

Jones was not convinced popping the big question was the right direction for him.

“As much as I believe in Paradise, I can’t compare it to shifting the same dynamics in the real world. I can’t do it,” he said during a confessional. “I don’t want this to be a dealbreaker for us. I’m not willing to lose her over an engagement in Paradise.”
