Anthony Hamilton Gets “Home By Five” for a Good Cause
Grammy Award-winning soul singer Anthony Hamilton has signed on to join Esquire's Third Annual Songwriting Challenge benefiting Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America.
Five artists from various genres (Chris Daughtry “4:00 A.M.,” Craig Finn “Respective Coast,” Sam Roberts “Faultline Blues,” Rhett Miller “Cassandra,”) including Hamilton were challenged to write, perform and record an original song inspired by the title, "Pacific Standard Time." Anthony's "Home By Five" will be available for sale exclusively on iTunes alongside the four others for $1.29 each from now until May 31.
"Each year we've done the songwriting challenge, I've been grateful that so much talent — the musicians, Danny, Andy Langer and Esquire's editors — works so hard to pull something so complicated off. This year, with the commitment of Apple and Hearst, we get to help Big Brothers Big Sisters continue their crucial work," said Esquire's Editor-In-Chief, David Granger.
Esquire's parent company, Hearst, has promised to match all donations up to $10,000 and will advertise the competition in magazine's upcoming May issue, which hits stands April 24.
