DJ Khaled Addresses Lil Wayne and Birdman's Beef, Says He's Not Signed to Cash Money Anymore

He also talked about his new single, "How Many Times."

When DJ Khaled has a single to promote, you’ll definitely hear about it.

This morning, Khaled appeared on The Breakfast Club to talk about his latest record, “How Many Times,” featuring an all-star cast of Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and Big Sean. Besides that, the veteran hip hop personality addressed his ongoing lawsuit with a New York-based jeweler, the Birdman/Lil Wayne situation, I Changed a Lot, Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao, his We the Best artists and much more.

“First of all, those two guys, that’s family to me. Lil Wayne that’s my brother. Birdman, that’s family. At the end of the day, it’s not my business and I do pray for greatness and everything [to] work out,” Khaled says of Weezy and Stunna's issues. “At the end of the day, those two people know who I am and I don’t get involved. I feel like people who comment … it’s not their business. At the end of the day, I pray for the best.”

Khaled also revealed that he’s been off Cash Money Records for quite some time, but has never made it public. “It’s not like I’m here to promote that I’ve been off. No, I’m not that type of person. Lil Wayne and Birdman, that’s family. It’s still We the Best. Nothing negative, everything is beautiful.”

In regards to I Changed A Lot, Khaled said he wants to keep the momentum going by pushing big records. He wants the conversation for his album to revolve around his ability to put major artists together. Last year, Khaled released the Jay Z-assisted “They Don’t Love You No More" and his R&B banger “Hold You Down” — two tracks that made their rounds on the airwaves.

“I’m just changing the game because I know what the fans want and the people want cause I’m a fan of hip-hop,” he said. “I want more of my favorite artists or more of the guy that makes the anthems. I want more.”
