Columbus Short Slammed With Huge Child Support Payment
Columbus Short's estranged wife Tanee McCall-Short learned that it really pays when your ex-husband skips out on court. The Scandal star was hit with a huge spousal support bill and legal fees by a family court judge on Wednesday, TMZ reports, and was nowhere to be found when it came to defending himself.
Short was a no-show during the hearing with his ex, as was his lawyer. As a result, McCall-Short was able to convince the judge to award her $17,005 a month in spousal support, $4,542 a month in child support for their two kids and $25,000 for her legal bills.
The former television star — who has yet to respond to his ex-wife's divorce petition — claimed economic hardship when it came to settling his other legal dispute with a man he allegedly bloodied and left unconscious in a bar fight. After being let go from Scandal, Short has been making the rounds on the comedy circuit and starring in independent films.
