Yes, They Are!
In a move that will be considered pretty ballsy or extremely annoying no matter which side you’re on, the Obama 2012 campaign began selling on Wednesday limited-edition T-shirts that depict the president’s smiling image on the front above the words “Made in the USA” and a copy of his long-form birth certificate on the back.
That’s not all. Supporters can buy coffee mugs, too.
A campaign official told ABC News that the T-shirts are being sold because a book titled Where's the Birth Certificate?: The Case That Barack Obama Is Not Eligible to Be President, authored by “fact-challenged” conservative author James Corsi, was published this week.
Last month, the president posted his long-form birth certificate on the White House website to counter the silly and unrelenting allegations of business mogul and presidential-candidate poseur Donald Trump that he was not born in the United States. Trump’s polling numbers quickly plummeted in the aftermath.
There will likely always be some doubters, however. As ABC also reported, a Gallup poll released last week showed that 47 percent of Americans now say Obama was definitely born in the United States, up from 38 percent in an April survey. Still, it will be interesting to see how much money the president’s re-election campaign can haul in at the birthers’ expense.
