2023 NAACP Image Awards: Chris Brown, Tems, Rihanna and Silk Sonic Win Big
The 54th annual NAACP Image Awards have unveiled their first round of winners in the non-televised award categories before the live airing of the award ceremony on Saturday (Feb. 25) at 8 p.m. ET – and some of your favorite entertainers won big in major categories.
On Monday (Feb. 20), winners included Tems for “Outstanding International Song” for “No Woman No Cry,” Chris Brown for “Outstanding Male Artist” and “Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (Contemporary)” with Wizkid for their song “Call Me Every Day,” Erica Campbell for “Outstanding Gospel/Christian Song” for her song “Positive,” Rihanna for “Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album” for “Lift Me Up,” Silk Sonic for “Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (Traditional)” for “Love's Train,” and more.
Night one of the non-televised virtual experiences was hosted by Khleo Thomas and special guest appearances from presenters including Crystal Renee Hayslett, Echo Kellum, and Jotaka Eaddy.
The week-long 54th NAACP Image Awards Virtual Experience will continue until Feb. 24. Fans are invited to join the program to celebrate the outstanding achievements and performances of people of color leading up to the live show.
