Rep. Ilhan Omar Trolls Trump By Posting Picture With Nancy Pelosi In 'Mother Africa'
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) may not have always seen eye-to-eye, but they didn’t let their political differences stop them from trolling President Trump and his racist tweets.
Omar, who is one of the four Democratic congresswomen of color the president told to “go back” to their country, has faced targeted racism from Trump and his base. At a rally in North Carolina, Trump’s followers chanted “send her back” while the president did nothing to stop them.
Recently, Omar and Pelosi traveled to Ghana with 13 members of the Congressional Black Caucus to observe the 400th anniversary of the arrival of enslaved Africans in America, according to Quartz.
To commemorate her visit, Omar tweeted a picture with Pelosi along with the caption: “didn’t just make arrangements to send me back, she went back with me.”
“So grateful for the honor to return to Mother Africa with the @TheBlackCaucus and commemorate The Year of Return!” Omar wrote.
The pair were photographed in front of the “Door of No Return” at the Cape Coast Slave Castle in Ghana, where slaves passed through on their way to ships.
Omar and Pelosi also met with members of the Ghanaian parliament, Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo, Speaker Mike Oquaye, and other senior government officials.

"In Ghana, our delegation looks forward to high-level discussions on key issues such as regional security, sustainable and inclusive development and the challenges of tomorrow, including the climate crisis," Pelosi said in a statement.
