Tabitha Brown Says Her Husband Of 20-Years Is Her 'Best Friend'
Popular vegan foodie and host of Tab Time Tabitha Brown is known for speaking her truth. In a recent appearance on The Talk, Brown shared how much she enjoys working with her husband of 20 years, Chance.
Per PEOPLE , The Talk co-host Akbar Gbaja-Biamila asked Brown about shooting her new web series with Chance. "This year, my husband and I will have been together 25 years and married for 20," Brown responded to the delight of the panel. "So being able to do Fridays with Tab and Chance with him is just a bonus for me."
She added that she feels a responsibility to be transparent with her millions of devoted followers.
"We decided, if we're going to do this, we got to just tell the truth," Brown said. "A lot of people see the fairy tale of marriage and 'they lived happily ever after'…but we gotta tell people that is not all the truth."
She added: "When you've been together as long as I have been with my husband, honey, you have been through just about everything under the sun. It is my responsibility; if I'm going to use my platform that reaches millions, I gotta tell the truth."
Brown rose from social media via her vegan recipes and warm personality to a lifestyle brand with deals with major corporations and networks. She shared last year that she was able to "retire" her husband, who worked for 15 years as a Los Angeles police officer.
"It's a bittersweet moment because it has been an emotional rollercoaster of him being a police officer," she said, per Essence. "As we know, it's been tough as a Black man, and then also being an officer has been very tough. When my husband went on this journey, he really felt like he could make a difference, and I know that he has in his community. He has done his part. But I also know it's time for him to dream again."
Brown is celebrating the successful launch of her limited-time partnership with Target. The collection features vegan snacks, housewares, cookware, and food storage in bright colors that are true to the social media star's colorful aesthetic.
