This Ohio Rapper Claims to Have Information About the Baton Rouge Police Shooter

This is really random.

In a (possibly) bizarre turn of events, an Ohio-based rapper, who goes by the name Yarima Karama, claims that Gavin Long, the gunman who killed three police officers last week in Baton Rouge, sent him an email containing a three-page handwritten manifesto about why he did what he did.

In a YouTube video posted on July 19, Karama says he received the email at 9:04 a.m., which would have been around 40 minutes before law enforcement received initial reports of the shooting. Karama claims to not know Long personally, but has communicated with him in the past. BuzzFeed was provided a single page of the letter.

The manifesto reportedly details what Gavin Long believes as police corruption and the ineffectiveness of the judicial system to prosecute bad cops. The letter says that the shootings were “a necessary evil that I do not wish to partake in, nor do I enjoy partaking in, but must partake in in order to create substantial change within America’s police force and judicial system,” according to what Karama read in the video.

Check out Yarima Karama’s video below and BuzzFeed’s copy of part of the manifesto here.
