Halle Berry Sits Down With Gayle King To Talk Career, Legacy, And How She Continues To Defy The Odds And Surprise Herself
Academy Award winning actress Halle Berry is living Black history and continues to break barriers and take on projects that push her beyond her wildest dreams.
On February 24, CBS Mornings’ Gayle King sits down with actress/director for a one-hour prime-time special on BET and produced by Paramount+ See It Now Studios. The two will discuss details behind Berry’s latest project and directorial debut Bruised, which streamed as the number film the week it was released on Netflix.
Berry plays Jackie Justice, a disgraced MMA fighter who has failed at the one thing she’s ever been good at – fighting, according to Deadline. When 6-year-old Manny, the son she walked out on years ago, returns to her doorstep, Jackie has to conquer her own demons, face one of the fiercest rising stars of the MMA world, and ultimately fight to become the mother the boy deserves. The film has a Rocky-like feel to it with a theme of redemption over failure. Written by first-time feature writer Michelle Rosenfarb, the storyline highlights a woman’s grueling MMA training in New Jersey as she works to get into the kind of shape necessary to battle much younger opponents.
Join Berry and King for tonight's Spotlight interview on BET at 9/8c.
