Here’s Why Wig Slayer Tokyo Stylez Is Getting Dragged Into Nicki Minaj And Cardi B's On-Going Beef
Hold on to your edges ladies, it looks like the beef between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B isn’t all the way squashed.
Yesterday (April 12) during her highly anticipated Beats 1 interview with Zane Lowe, Nicki wanted to clear her name regarding the “Motorsport” video shoot.
However, it looks like it’s a “minaj a trois” because Nicki name-checked noted hairstylist Toyko Stylez saying it was him—not her—that caused a conflict for the shoot.
“Even with the scheduling conflict, she’s using my hairdresser now so even he can attest to the fact, Tokyo [Stylez]…He knows there really was a scheduling conflict and it was because of him. He’s the one that couldn’t show up. I texted him, ‘You know, if I don’t show up the day she’s shooting, they’re gonna act like I’m doing it to be mean with the current Nicki hate train.’ He wasn’t able to come, and that’s fine.”
“I had to shoot another day. They all knew that…You still did interviews and you all still jumped around that just to paint Nicki as the bad person so you could play the victim. That really hurt me. I fully supported her and up until this recent interview, I had never seen her show me genuine love in an interview. I can just imagine how many girls wish they could have been on a song with Nicki Minaj. I’m not saying it in a cocky way but yikes.”
Toyko, who also works with Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian and Lil Kim didn't take too kindly to the accusation and posted the not-so subliminal message below:
But the drama doesn’t stop there! Another lauded celeb stylist, Neal Farinah (who also works with Nicki) wants it to be known that he is also more than capable (and available) to slay the Barbz hair.
He started posting several #TBT photos eluding to the fact that he puts it down too.
Whew! This is a lot to unpack in less than 24 hours.
Is Tokyo really the reason the beef between Nicki and Cardi started anyways? Or, is the Barbz using him as a scapegoat to clear her name? Or, is this another publicity stunt that perhaps both ladies are in on together?
