DaBaby Is Being Sued By Woman Who Claims He Slapped Her
DaBaby is now facing a lawsuit from Tyronesha Laws, the woman who claims that she was the woman struck by the rapper at a recent concert in Tampa, Florida.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ and Pitchfork, Laws is suing DaBaby for battery, negligence, and the intentional infliction of emotional distress. As such, she is seeking $30,000 in damages as redress for the “injuries about her face and head” and “extreme mental and emotional distress.” This comes after a TMZ report wherein DaBaby’s lawyer, Drew Findling, said that Laws is not the woman in question that DaBaby allegedly hit.

Pitchfork further reported that Laws claimed she has been receiving threats on social media over the incident. Earlier this week, a video circulated online showing DaBaby walking through the crowd when an unidentifiable person brings their flashlight-activated phone close by his face, seemingly to the point of physical contact. Baby is then seen striking the individual and continuing on his path to the stage.
Baby later issued an explanation about the situation via Instagram as well as an apology to the person he struck. In the video, he also asked fans to be more mindful of his space. Nonetheless, he offered to fly the unidentified woman to him so that he could apologize to her in person. However, Laws came forward via TMZ as the slapping victim soon after and questioned the sincerity of the North Carolina rap star’s words.

Thus far, DaBaby has not publicly responded to the lawsuit. Per TMZ, Laws’ attorneys, Matt Morgan and Chelsea Cromer, said the intention of the lawsuit is to “deter similar conduct in the video and send a message that this type of behavior is not tolerated in America.”
