Brad Pitt Joins Lupita Nyong'o's Americanah
Lupita Nyong’o is getting a helping hand from Brad Pitt in her effort to bring author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's latest novel, Americanah, to the big screen. The Oscar-winning actress, who worked with Pitt on 12 Years a Slave, optioned the rights to the novel recently.
Pitt's production company, Plan B, has come on to produce the project, which will star Nyong'o. Americanah centers on the immigrant experience of Nigerians in America. No word if Pitt will play a role in the film.
The rising star and fashionista is currently working on JJ Abrams’s Star Wars: Episode VII and will next give voice to a character in Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book.
Pitt's company Plan B produced Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave and is also behind Ava DuVernay's upcoming Selma.
