Flossy Posse 2.0: Is A 'Girls Trip' Sequel Under Way?
Girls Trip proved to be the clear winner among this year's summer comedy releases, and while the hilarious film continues to be a talking piece more than a month after its initial release, talks of a possible sequel are currently swirling.
The film, starring Jada Pinkett-Smith, Queen Latifah, Regina Hall and Tiffany Haddish, crossed the $100 million mark at the US box office alone, seeing it massively surpass its $20 million production budget.
In an interview with Vulture, the film's producer, Will Packer, explained that a part two is definitely in the "talking" stages.
"We're definitely talking about it," he said. "The only thing harder than opening a studio comedy today is opening a studio comedy sequel. That's the next challenge. I love our team. If anybody can do it, we can do it."
While those who enjoyed the sisterhood-themed flick would love a second round of fun, Packer explained that it would be some time before it materializes.
"It's still a little early," he added. "The movie is still in theaters but it's something we've all thought about."
It is reported that all of the ladies will reprise their roles in the sequel, if it happens However, there is no confirmation, just yet, on if they've signed any agreements for a Girls Trip 2.
