Fab or Fail: Kim Kardashian and Alicia Keys in Jeweled Wedding Headpieces
Kim Kardashian’s August 20 nuptials were dubbed a “Royal Wedding,” and while that may seem like a hefty title for the reality star her wedding day style was fit for a princess, from her custom-made lace and tulle Vera Wang gown to her to $2.5 million diamond Lorraine Schwartz headpiece. The 65-carat sparkler was inspired by Audrey Hepburn and fit right into the rest of her bling, which included $5 milliion earrings and of course, her 20.5 carat, $2 million dollar emerald-cut engagement ring (both by Lorraine Schwartz). Kim balances out the over-the-top headpiece addition with a simple tulle veil and sleek bun.
Last year, Alicia Keys also accessorized a Vera Wang wedding gown with a jeweled headpiece when she married Swizz Beatz (July 31). Wang was originally inspired by a style of dress worn by Egyptian princesses, so the dazzling jeweled “crown” fit right into the motif. Key’s jewel encrusted headband was originally a one-of-a-kind necklace that was reworked by Jacob & Co. She skipped a veil for the custom-fitted 60 carat diamond headpiece and showed it off by pinning her hair up.
These diamond toppers gave both stars’ wedding looks a regal feel, but do you think the dramatic head pieces are glamorous or just gaudy? Vote now in our poll!
