Zoe Saldana Talks Love in "Star Trek" Sequel

The actress shares her ideas for the next installment of the newly rebooted franchise

Zoe Saldana has ideas about the next installment of the Star Trek movie franchise. Saldana played linguistics officer “Uhura” in 2009's J.J. Abrams-directed Star Trek. The movie grossed $385 million worldwide.

Speaking with Empire Online, Saldana, 32, said she would like storylines involving intimacy with the character “Spock” for the sequel.  She told the site, "I can maybe tell you what I'd like to see happen. For Spock and Uhura to really hook up. Or to get to do whatever physical activities. Kick some butt, some Romulan butt."

According to Karl Urban, who co-starred in the movie, shooting for the next Star Trek will begin in September or November. In the meantime, Saldana also mentioned that she’s already had talks about a sequel to her next film, Columbiana. The action-drama isn’t set for release until September, but Saldana says there may already be a second installment in the works.
