Chief Keef, the 16-year-old rapper behind the breakout song "I Don't Like," has officially signed with Interscope Records, MTV News reports. The up-and-coming artist broke the news after performing at the annual Birthday Bash concert put on by Atlanta's Hot 107.9.
Keef rose to fame after the video for "I Don't Like" went viral following its release in March. Currently it has over 6.5 million views on YouTube.

"I've been talkin' to a lot of labels, but I just noticed that Interscope got people like 50, Eminem," Keef told MTV. "They was talkin' like I was talkin' and I liked that."

The Chicago rapper saw his profile rise even further after Kanye West decided to remix the song, originally produced by fellow teenage Chicagoan Young Chop, for a G.O.O.D. Music version featuring Pusha T, Big Sean and Jadakiss.

Keef was reportedly sought after by virtually every hip hop music label in the business before deciding on Interscope. Cash Money, Bad Boy, Grand Hustle and Def Jam were all said to be in the running.

Cash Money CEO Birdman made his intentions known about wanting to ink the Chicago upstart back in March when he spoke to MTV’s RapFix.

“[He’s] out the streets, I think he swagged up and I’m definitely talkin’ to his people and I’d like to see if we could get it to pop, see if I can get him to be down with the team.”

While Birdman fell short on his hopes, Chief Keef celebrated the move at the Birthday Bash where he performed with Young Jeezy.
