Surveillance Video Captures Ridiculous Moment A White Man In Blackface Robbed A Casino
A white man was charged with robbery after allegedly being caught on surveillance robbing a Las Vegas strip casino in blackface.
On Friday, a federal court filed charges against Cameron James Kennedy, 26, for the January armed robbery of a casino cage at New York-New York, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. The federal charges carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, reports the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Footage from a surveillance camera (which can be seen here) reportedly shows Kennedy with dark makeup on his face in order to appear Black, Las Vegas police said. When a cashier at the cage was questioned by police, she said she never thought Kennedy was Black because his complexion was “off” and “blotchy,” according to the federal complaint.
During the robbery, Kennedy showed the cashier a handgun that was tucked in his waistband, according to the complaint.
After the robbery, Kennedy took off in a cab with over $23,000, according to the complaint.
Kennedy used the money to buy a gold bracelet for $1,500, money orders of more than $1,800 and a $1,000 prepaid debit card in someone else’s name, according to court records.
He was arrested Jan. 25 and placed on house arrest.
