Nigerian Olympain medalist Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguonor has been getting a lot of attention after her most recent long jump. 

The 28-year-old track and field athlete, who specializes in long jumping and short sprints, ran her ass and wig off when she did a long jump for Oslo Diamond League on Thursday evening. Check out the video below:

For those who may think Blessing is mortified from the experience, think again! She was laughing right along with us when she posted on Instagram: "When you talk about something for so long and it eventually happened. Oh well, it is what it is then... heads up..." along with the video.

And of course, we don't care at all what anyone chooses to do with their hair but it is constantly part of the conversation surrounding Black female athletes. Champions like Serena Williams, Gabby Douglas and Simone Biles have all faced scathing headlines that reduce their accomplishments to the imperfections of a ponytail. 

Luckily, in 2017, Black women are here for each other, and this particular incident has sparked some outrage with many people coming to the defense of Okagbare-Ighoteguonor. 

Activist Michalea Coel posted this on Instagram, encouraging people to think less about the wig, and think more about why you think it's a big deal that she had a wig in the first place. 

Regardless of the mishap, she's an incredibly talented athlete and not that it matters at all, but she still looks amazing while competing. So, hats off, wigs off, masks off to you, Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguonor, for handling the situation like a winner!
