Mac Miller Signs to Warner Bros. Records

22-year-old rapper brokers $10 million label deal.

Mac Miller just jumped into the major leagues. The 22-year-old rapper signed a $10 million deal with Warner Bros. Records, The Fader reports.

The Pittsburgh native brings his Remember Music imprint to the label and will continue to sign and develop artists. “Warner is the most independent thinking company I met with," Miller said in an email statement. "It is a partnership and now I can focus on building my label Remember through music and let them handle everything I don't like doing. Nothing will change in how I do things."

Miller has a strong social media following, which is credited to his indie success. His 2011 studio debut, Blue Slide Park, became the first indie rap release to debut at No. 1 on Billboard in more than a decade. The album was released through Rostrum Records, selling 145,000 copies in its first week. His sophomore LP, Watching Movies With the Sound Off, took third place on Billboard's album chart its first week, behind Kanye West and J. Cole.

In commemoration of his new deal, Miller released the track “Just Some Raps, Nothing To See Here, Move Along.”
