Kaepernick's Lawyer Says QB's Request To Have A Mediator Present For A Meeting With Roger Goodell Was Rejected By The NFL
With every questionable quarterback decision that NFL franchises make, it seems like Colin Kaepernick's grievance against team owners for collusion is only growing stronger.
And this might add to it. After ESPN reported Tuesday that the NFL invited Kaepernick to a one-on-one meeting with league commissioner Roger Goodell, the quarterback's lawyer said that the proposed meeting was nixed because the NFL rejected Kaep's request to have a mediator present due to his grievance.
“We responded immediately [to the Oct. 31 invite] that Colin would be happy to attend,” the QB's attorney, Mark Geragos, said of the proposed meeting with Goodell as reported by Yahoo Sports. “Because of the grievance we asked that a mediator be present. A mediator would ensure that the discussions were productive and confidential and not used as a public relations stunt or prop by the league. Colin’s proposal was rejected.”
In response, NFL spokesperson Joe Lockhart said that Geragos' claim wasn't accurate and that Kaepernick never bothered to respond to the invitation.
“[NFL Vice President of Operations] Troy [Vincent] reached out to Colin directly — not to his lawyer — and said, ‘If you want to come in, come in,’” Lockhart said as reported by Yahoo Sports. “This isn’t about his lawyer. This isn’t about a mediator. The question of ‘Has [Colin] been invited in?’ The answer is yes. This isn’t part of any grievance process. This is part of the overall discussion we’ve been having on some of these social issues.”
That being said, people heard Kaepernick's lawyers explanation about the mediator, and that's enough for them to blast the league with these reactions.

Upon hearing that the NFL reportedly rejected Kaepernick's request to have a mediator present for his meeting with Goodell, people are looking at the league like ...
So are we.
And this conclusion was drawn pretty quickly
You'd be hard-pressed to argue it at this point.
Is this how Goodell interpreted the mediator request?
Shaking our damn heads.

And that generated this ...
Frustrating.
Oh, and about Kaepernick's grievance ...
That grievance is seemingly growing stronger by the day.
