Posted Sept. 6, 2007 -- You know this funny gal from such vehicles as "Beauty Shop," "The Jamie Foxx Show," and "Suddenly Susan." Now look for Chi-town actress Sherri Shepherd to round out the cast of "The View," a set she's been on as guest host a dozen times.

Shepherd, who initially tried out for Star Jones' empty slot last summer, will be introduced next week, reports the Associated Press, giving the daytime chat show its first full cast since before Rosie O'Donnell's year-long stint.

View" creator Barbara Walters said Wednesday that she would reveal the new cast member on Monday. That will be Shepherd, said a person close to the show who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Shepherd's next big-screen appearance will be in the upcoming film "Who's Your Caddy.

By the way, preliminary Nielsen Media Research ratings found that 3.4 million people watched Goldberg's debut on Tuesday. That's one million short of O'Donnell's audience for her first show last September.

Cough It Up, Noa

A judge Wednesday approved a $545,000 arbitration award to Jennifer Lopez in a lawsuit against her first husband, Ojani Noa, over his plans to publish a tell-all book.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael C. Solner also issued a permanent injunction barring Noa from publishing negative, denigrating or disparaging details about Lopez. Solner approved the award, which includes $200,000 in damages, with the rest going for arbitration costs and attorney's fees.

The judge also directed Noa to hand over the actress-singer or her lawyer all copies of materials related to the ghostwritten book, which would have claimed that during the time of their marriage Lopez had multiple affairs, including one with her third and current husband, Marc Anthony, according to court documents.

Noa and Lopez, 39, married in February 1997 and were divorced 11 months later.

R&B Crooner's Home for Sale

Usher got married, is about to be a daddy and is now selling his home in Atlanta.

The 28-year-old singer, who twice married girlfriend Tameka Foster, only wants $1.95 million for his 5-bedroom, 4½-bathroom, gray stucco home in metro Atlanta's Country Club of the South gated community.

[Usher] upgraded the master suite, and totally redesigned and renovated the terrace level," real-estate agent Lisa Robinson tells People. "That level has [the] hair salon, a gym and a state-of-the-art movie theater.

The home, featured on MTV's Crib's, was once owned by music producer L.A. Reid, who used the in-house recording studio to work with artists Jermaine Dupri, Dallas Austin, TLC and others.

Dawson Gets "Ill" in New Indie

Rosario Dawson, Naomie Harris and Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter have signed on for the independent drama “Explicit Ills,” which follows people living under extreme pressure and the choices they make under those circumstances.

According to Philly.com, Dawson plays a mother who has an asthmatic son and no health insurance. Poverty and drug abuse are also said to be key issues addressed in the film. Actor Mark Webber ("Broken Flowers") makes his directorial debut on the project which begins a month of filming this week in North Philadelphia.

Good Added to "Guru"

Meagan Good joins the star-studded cast of "The Love Guru," about an American raised in an Indian ashram who returns to the States to break into the self-help business. Mike Myers leads the cast, which also includes Jessica Alba, Romany Malco, Justin Timberlake and Oscar winner Ben Kingsley. Good’s resume includes lead roles in the hits "Stomp the Yard," "Waist Deep" and "Roll Bounce.
