Amy Winehouse's Dad Hands Out Her Clothes to Fans

The late singer's father surprises mourning fans camped outside her house.

Fans of Amy Winehouse holding a vigil outside her home were greeted by an unexpected surprise yesterday when the late singer's father handed out her belongings.

Mourners had been camped outside Winehouse's house since last Saturday, when news broke that the trouble diva, who had long publicly struggled with alcohol and drugs, had been found dead in her London home. As U.K's The Sun reports, Mitch Winehouse shocked the fans when he emerged from the front door and began handing out clothes, jewelry and trinkets in the street. "These are Amy's T-shirts," he said. "This is what she would have wanted—for her fans to have her clothes."

52-year-old Londoner Brigitte Pividal was given a red vest. "I will cherish this for the rest of my life," she said.

The singer's father had been holed up in her house with other family member's since Thursday for the sad task of sorting through her things and taking away her most cherished belongings, including her guitar and notebooks. A pair of Amy's ballet slippers could be seen in his back pocket as he got into a cab to leave, solemnly declaring, "God bless Amy Winehouse."
